Detailed reviews

Phil M1.0 / 5 ·

The plumber came to replace a stop valve. The new valve put in but old one left in. I was told they would remove it later as they could not turn main stop valve off. I had this cleared by wyw and the plumber came back to remove old stop valve but did not. Apparently he had no stop valve tool. He said he would come back but never did. I had already been given the bill and had paid it. The plumber never returned and is not replying to my messgaes.

Gas work is restricted by law to Gas Safe registered engineers. If they'll touch a boiler or any gas appliance, confirm they're currently on the register before you hire - it's free and takes a minute.

Before you hire a gas engineer

By law, anyone working on your gas appliances must be on the Gas Safe Register — ask to see their Gas Safe ID card and check the licence number at gassaferegister.co.uk before they start.
Never let an unregistered person touch your gas: unsafe gas work risks carbon monoxide poisoning, fire and explosion, and is a criminal offence.
For a boiler or appliance install, get the work and price in writing and keep the Gas Safe / Building Regulations certificate they are required to give you.
Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
Read recent reviews for reliability and turning up on time — not only the quality of the work.
