Wanted ideas on how we could extend kitchen into old brick built shed with coal bunker. Nick and the team discussed options , our budget and gave time frame of 6 weeks . They were round at 8.00 Most mornings and completed a week ahead of time frame agreed .All building rubbish and rubble was cleared by them . We are thrilled with the work done and have recently had them back to rip out old fireplace in lounge so would definitely recommend this company

Once again I contacted 1st Choice Improvements to carry out my second phase of renovations to my property. The work included new handrails, bannisters, spindles. They have built me a mezzanine floor which I am over the moon with. Also they have replastered, fitted new lighting and sensor, completed all my electrics, all painting and hatch for loft. Already looking at phase 3 and highly recommend them and they are a very hard-working team! (Photos attached)

I contacted 1st Choice Improvements because they advertised on their website that they were happy to take on small jobs. I was preparing a house for sale for a cousin who had died and wanted a ceiling replacing, a small bit of plaster repair and some cosmetic painting, etc. The house was in Bognor Regis, I live in Somerset. I also needed house clearance, cleaning throughout, windows cleaned and carpets cleaned. 1st Choice acted as a 'main contractor' and managed the whole project admirably with good speed and left the whole house sparkling. They also presented some items of clearance that were new and sellable to St Wilfred's Hospice Shop rather than simply skipping them. Their price for all the works was competitive and within the range I had estimated myself. All the time, they were friendly, helpful, willing, and professional and I cannot praise them highly enough.

We used Nick and Cameron to fit out a home office from a garden shed. Two main things to mention. First Nick is knowledgeable and able to handle all tasks. Anything he cannot do personally he knows someone who can. Second it really shows that this is a family run business. They made sure the job got done and had a nice balance between friendly and professional. We had some major issues due to covid and Brexit so we ran way over schedule but the guys on the job never stopped trying- so I cannot ask for more than that. I recommend them and would use them again.

Unfortunately somebody decided to drive into my Garden wall back in the summer and of course didn’t stop so left me to pick up the piece (literally). The wall itself it over 2 metres tall and is a flint wall. I called 1st choice who were on site within 2 hours and quickly arranged for scaffolding to be put in place to stabilise it as there was a real possibility that the wall could have collapsed. After much negotiation with my insurance and with 1st Choice supplying timely quotes for both repair and full rebuild the work finally started on the 16th of November. The builders/brickies were specialist in the repair of flint walls and after two weeks and many conversations with insurance surveyors and loss adjusters which was mostly lead by 1st Choice the work was completed. I would like to say that the wall looks just as it did before the accident but in fact its way better and puts the rest to shame so a big thanks to 1st Choice

New extension on back of house; including new heating, painting, flooring. Nick and his crew were great. Always informative.

Drain Issues…. Unfortunately our kitchen sink got blocked and no amount of drain unblocker solution could clear it. Nick was not defeated by this. He returned with a Karcher pressure washer to clear the drain and pipework. This worked to a degree but did not solve the problem fully. He purchased a special drain hose to attach to the Karcher at his own expense and this cleared a fat ball the size of a tennis ball. This procedure took two days of Nick’s time to solve and he did not lose determination to solve the problem at any point. I am very grateful to him and would recommend him in all things.

I cannot recommend 1st Choice Improvements highly enough. As House Manager to two properties and one being on a large private country estate, Nick has helped solve long term problems to drainage works, cess pits, roof leaks and repairs, damp wall issues, plumbing to a boiler room, drone investigation, scaffolding, log burner flue repair, chandelier lighting, all general maintenance and gardening/landscaping and co-working with myself in project management. His knowledge is endless and helps solve problems so quickly. A pleasure to work with and certainly helps me keep the properties to a very high standard. Thank you 1st Choice. 5*****

1st Choice Improvements to the rescue…… After a stormy night, I was heading out to work and got stopped by a fallen tree in my lane. After 10 minutes of trying to cut my way through, I messaged Nick who instantly responded and said he and Cameron would be there to help in 20 minutes. They arrived and spent 3 hours cutting through the tree to make the lane accessible. I was very grateful. Nick and Cameron kindly returned the next day to chop up the tree so that I could have wood for my log burner. Superhero’s of 1st Choice! Thank you!
