Alan has done at least 20 jobs for me over about a five year period. His knowledge in the electrical and plumbing fields is superb. His work is done to the highest standard. His response time is also very quick. Even for non-emergencies he often makes time to at least make an initial visit within 24 hours. He always explains very thoroughly what the problem is and how it can be fixed. I have no hesitation at all in recommending him very strongly.

faulty light fitting replacing - AAB came within 48 hours - ok perhaps it was a lot to replace one light fitting but a) I am not an electrician b) I prefer not to risk electrocuting myself and c) they had to come into the congestion charge zone - so money well spent I feel ! They arrived absolutely when they said they would, and the job was completed intelligently, quickly and efficiently. Also had an opportunity to ask for advice on possibly replacing the fuse board - but that's for another day

Alan and team did an excellent job, assessing the electrics for EICR purposes and then addressing the work required. Alan and team were punctual, honest, trustworthy and really cared about doing a good job. Their advice was detailed, they paid great attention to detail and kept me me well informed at all stages of the work. I would wholeheartedly recommend the team at AAB.

Highly impressed by Lal at AAB. She contacted us within an hour of getting in touch; was switched on; asked great questions; came on time; came within days of first query; cleared up; did not break anything; was pleasant and easy to deal with. I could not recommend her more.

Plumber came out at 645AM on a Sunday, arrived prompt and helped fix a leak in a timely professional manner. Reasonably priced too - would definitely recommend.

I contacted AAB Electrical & Plumbing Contractors Ltd for fixing extractor fans in the bathroom and the shower room and was impressed with the standard of service. I received an email promptly confirming the day and the time of the appointment, an electrician who arrived on time, was very friendly and the job was completed efficiently. I highly recommend AAB Electrical & Plumbing Contractors Ltd and will without doubt call on their services again.

I found AAB Electrical services through Which trusted trader and I'm very glad I did. Hence I wish to add to their five star reviews with my own review. I asked AAB to quote for a new electric board I required to be able to obtain an EICR certificate for a flat I let. Alan was super efficient in replying to my request. To keep the inconvenience to the tenant to a minimum Alan was able to give me a rough idea of what I may need by looking at photo's sent by my tenant. Once I agreed in principle to the work required an electrician was able to visit the property. They changed the board and checked all the electrics on that visit. When the electrician had finished her work at my property she called me to talk me through everything that had been done and even offered further advice. For instance she thought it may be worth thinking of switching to more efficient kitchen lights in the future. It seems like such a small detail but how many other trades would call after they've visited your property, on a Saturday because that was most convenient for my tenant, to talk you through how it went and what they'd done. I can say for sure it's never happened to me before. Great service. Changing a board is a big cost but I am very happy with the service and work provided by Alan and his team. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Thank you for the great job AAB electrical.

The problem was a tap on the shower which we were unable to turn on. Having tried several plumbers who were either not interested or couldn't commit to a definite day I called AAB Plumbing. I spoke to Alan and explained the problem, he asked various questions and asked me to send him a picture of the tap. He also explained fully what their charges would be if we decided to go ahead. Once he had received the picture of the tap assembly he rang me back and we agreed a date and a time (between seven and seven thirty AM). The plumber arrived bang on seven. He replaced the tap and was gone by seven twenty five. As agreed I paid the plumber by credit card and he prepared an invoice and emailed it directly to me. Both Alan and the plumber (sorry I can't remember his name) were very professional and easy to work with. From past experience I know it can be difficult to find a plumber who will do small jobs like this one.

I called out AAB Electrical & Plumbing Contractors Ltd to fix a hot water issue in my electrical boiler. On arrival the engineer diagnosed the issue to be related to immersion stat faulty not only for hot water but also for central heating. Firstly I found it strange that both of the stats had gone faulty. I agreed for these to be changed and the engineer replaced the stats. I received an invoice from the engineer's company AAB Electrical & Plumbing Contractors Ltd for total of £438.62 and the engineer demanded immediate payment. I sent a message to the engineer asking for the faulty parts to be left on site as this was requested by the insurance company to which the engineer got aggressive and very angry and told me that he has thrown it in the bin. So I asked him which bin he said he doesn't know. The engineer was more interested in getting his invoice paid than he was in helping me with my issue. He also charged 2 hours at £115 per hour whilst he was only on-site for less than 45 minutes. My tenant noted down the time engineer arrived to when the engineer left. I was very surprised he had charged for an additional hour and I then suspected he might not have even replaced both stats as he did not want to leave the faulty parts behind. After the engineer left thinking the job was complete, within a few hours the central heating packed up and I asked the engineer if he had tested everything before he left and he said he did, this again is not true he couldn't have done as it stopped working shortly.

Arranged an EICR inspection on a few days' notice, electrician turned up on time, did the job and delivered the report the next day (even though that was a Sunday). While on site the engineer was polite, talked me through what they found and what follow-on work might need doing. They answered the phone and responded to emails promptly. Would definitely use them again.

Alan and his team drained and removed my old boiler, supplied and fitted a new unit, replaced our fuseboard, fixed half a dozen problems with down lights and smoke detectors and performed an EICR. Everything was done in one day and they left the flat spotless. Alan stands out for me as he explains everything with incredible patience and throughness, so you know exactly what they are going to do, and what it will cost. He also is good at giving options for how her tackles things. His team were great. Would definitely recommend.

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
Read recent reviews for reliability and turning up on time — not only the quality of the work.
