Highlights

"Anthony responded quickly to my query regarding a leaking roof and repaired it very quickly and efficiently. I will have no problem using them again or recommending their services. Thanks Anthony you took all my stress away!"

AnonymousCheckatrade5.0 rating

"Responded very fast, communicated well and seem to have got the job done."

AnonymousCheckatrade5.0 rating

"Wow, what a brilliant experience having Anthony and Darren working up on my roof! The quality of their work was second to none (it's been much admired by neighbours), but – just as importantly for me as my cottage is very small and I work from home – they were a real pleasure to have around. Super-efficient, incredibly tidy (leaving the site immaculate each day) and super-considerate – no bad mouth swearing (!) or mobile disco blasting out from the roof (just a radio, played at an unobtrusive volume). The cottage felt more secure, warmer and less damp straight away. Definitely 10 out of 10!"

Smart checks

Before you hire an architect

Only someone on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register may legally call themselves an 'architect' in the UK — ask for their ARB number and check it free at arb.org.uk. An 'architectural designer' or 'technologist' is a different, unregistered role (often capable, but not the same protection).
Agree how they charge before any work starts — a percentage of the build cost, a fixed fee, or an hourly rate — and exactly which stages it covers (concept design, planning application, building-regulations drawings, work on site), so there are no surprises later.
Confirm what they will actually handle versus what is excluded — the planning application, the building-control drawings, and whether they will administer the builder's contract on site — and get it, and a portfolio of similar projects, in writing.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
