Highlights

"We are new to the area and needed an electrical survey of the property we were buying. Went through Checkatrade and chose Complex Electrical Installations, as they had excellent reviews and their quote was not stupidly high or low. They were able to do the survey fairly quickly and the estate agents opened up the house for them. Some work was identified, which they quoted for. It was a long time before we could move in, and they were very understanding with this. They came back to do the work this week. Very friendly and professional. The amount we paid was exactly the quoted amount."

"Liam was very friendly and efficient, made sensible suggestions about how to get the cables resited with minimal disruption and carried out all work neatly and tidily. Would recommend."

Neil RCheckatrade5.0 rating

"The cheapest of three quotes from local companies. Work carried out cleanly, competently and on time. Would recommend this company."

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
Check any verified credentials, and that the business details independently check out.
