Highlights

"Shaun and his team have been nothing but quick, polite, knowledgeable and honest. Turns out a small job ended up being a much bigger job taking way more time and materials than ever expected. Quoted for dropped verges but they had completely rotted away and my felt was nonexistent. So had the whole lot done and rebuilt. This was no problem for them once the scaffolding was up they came straight back and worked flat out to get the job done."

"A small repair to a part of a mundic wall gable ended up being a full rebuild of two sides of our semi-detached house. We were fully supported by Shaun's professional knowledge, advice and reassurance. He even visited us at weekends to check that the scaffolding and tarpaulins were holding up in strong winds. We always knew what was happening and we were never left worrying or wondering. A truly professional job was done by this family based company. We were delighted with all aspects of the service we received. We would not hesitate to recommend Shaun and his friendly and hard-working team."

Smart checks

Before you hire a builder

Never pay a large deposit up front — agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
Be wary of a cash-only price or pressure to start tomorrow — both are red flags for an unaccountable job.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
