Communication was good, and the surveyor came on time. They discovered several reasons for our damp issues and offered good advice. They also gave quotes to complete the work, which seemed reasonably priced.
I was told on the survey that the cost of the woodworm treatment would be no more than £1000 (including tax). The final price quoted (almost 3 weeks later) was £1200, at the top end of the range amongst competitors. When I emailed saying this was too expensive I was not engaged with, just sent a bill for £144 for the survey (which lasted less than 10 minutes). Croft then explained this was because they had to move insulation in the loft to treat the woodworm. This is not exactly a surprise when treating woodworm in a loft. I could only choose an overpriced service or a very expensive survey
