From the very start of our project to the finishing touches, their work has been outstanding. They think carefully about design and aesthetics, their craft skills are first class, their standards high and their prices are fair. On top of all that, they are lovely people to have around. You may, like us, start thinking of other projects that you want to get done because you now know and trust some really top people."

This was quite a task, as they needed to move a load of topsoil and deal with unstable ground and some terrible weather. They were brilliant from start to finish: extremely polite, always explaining clearly what they were doing and tidied up well too. They will be my first call when I next need a big job like this doing."

Never pay a large deposit up front — agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
