He is great at keeping customers informed of what needs doing and of updating on progress as the work is completed. He has a great team working with him who work very hard and get the job done incredibly efficiently. I would certainly recommend John and his company if you have roofing problems- he goes that extra mile- in my case even giving me a lift to the hospital to visit a sick relative!"
"John & his team of roofers replaced the roof next door to us & came recommended. We asked him to carry out a roof inspection, as we suspected we need a new roof & had some storm damage. This was done promptly & he took pictures, patiently explaining what needed to be done. Once we had agreed on the work, the price, & paid a deposit the job was done in a timely manner. The roofers were punctual & friendly, working well as a team, amazing to watch. Like a military operation! All the rubbish/waste was cleared away & removed. Work agreed was carried out to a high standard. Highly recommended."

John & his team of roofers replaced the roof next door to us & came recommended. We asked him to carry out a roof inspection, as we suspected we need a new roof & had some storm damage. Before you hire an architect
Only someone on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register may legally call themselves an 'architect' in the UK — ask for their ARB number and check it free at arb.org.uk. An 'architectural designer' or 'technologist' is a different, unregistered role (often capable, but not the same protection).
Agree how they charge before any work starts — a percentage of the build cost, a fixed fee, or an hourly rate — and exactly which stages it covers (concept design, planning application, building-regulations drawings, work on site), so there are no surprises later.
Confirm what they will actually handle versus what is excluded — the planning application, the building-control drawings, and whether they will administer the builder's contract on site — and get it, and a portfolio of similar projects, in writing.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
