"I had a broken oven light which I couldn’t remove. Tom visited very promptly, managed to remove the light and replace it. Extremely efficient! Would recommend highly."

"Unable to cancel the child lock on my washer dryer in spite of reading manual, watching YouTube etc. Engineer said he was in area, that his call out fee was normally £60 but that it would be £30 if a quick fix was possible. Also said he could get replacement circuit board next day if necessary. On my doorstep in 10 minutes and quick fix (pressing different button) cured problem"

Smart checks

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
Check any verified credentials, and that the business details independently check out.
