There were many hitches with this roof replacement, a bog standard mid terrace. The finished roof does not look good. I have seen people look askance at it. Roof replacement was offered, husband said no, he'd had enough. I would have liked it redone. Also, nails and rivets left on the ground and falling off the scaffold platforms were a constant problem, resulting in a tyre puncture and a nasty infected foot injury. Three attempts to get the guttering satisfactory. The practice of requiring full payment before seeing the finished roof is questionable, ie we wont take the scaffolding down till you pay. It's in the Terms and Conditions I was told. If only the work was monitored at some stage it may have at least looked better, and clearing up more than halfheartedly undertaken esp on the platforms. Overall, disappointed.

I received a detailed quote for the work which compared well with others. They kept me fully informed of the date the guttering and facias would be fitted. The guys worked really hard and completed the job within the two days. They tidied up and took all the old guttering away. They advised me on an unrelated damp issue. Everyone I have dealt with has been friendly and so helpful and the work completed looks really good. The 10 year guarantee was emailed promptly after payment. I would highly recommend as a professional company and would not hesitate to use them again.

Very glad we found GJ Smith to repair the roof and chimneys of our Victorian terrace house. The whole team were hard working, friendly and helpful, with great attention to detail, on what was not a straightforward job. Good quality work, good value, and they tidy up afterwards!

I found this local traders in LB Bee book issued monthly was local (bonus!) They arrived on time both guys friendly and polite got straight on with job had to get some tiles they were gone and back and job finished 3 hours cannot fault this Company excellent will recommend to friends. Would definitely recommend GJ Smith, from the quote by Liam and the work being completed by Chris and his team mate you could not ask for better service. The job wasn't the easiest as working in high temperatures but the new fascia, soffit and gutters look great. Chris tidied up each day and kept me informed of progress. A ridge tile got broken but was replaced the same day, even after having to source from reclamation yard as no longer made! They were not the cheapest quote I had but were by far the best in explaining and giving a detailed written quotation of the work to be carried out. I would definitely use them again for any roof related work and highly recommend.

It is now the 2nd time I have used G J Smith for roofing work. This time we had the entire roof replaced. They delivered what was expected of them and the team from the office staff to the guys that came and replaced the roof were outstanding. On time, Professional, Courteous and zero issues. I would highly recommend. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Not the cheapest or most expensive but just delivered what was asked of them, which was quality workmanship within our budget.
