Very helpful and reasonably priced Tree Surgeons with knowledgeable staff

I used this company to fell about 10 trees in a neglected garden. They arrived promptly and worked quickly and carefully clearing the area, (and the neighbours garden where twigs had fallen the wrong side of the fence) leaving the garden clean and tidy. I was very pleased with their service and vfm

At the end of January 201I I asked Richard Kemish for advice and an estimate for carrying out various items of tree pruning. He is very knowledgeable and obviously has a genuine interest in making sure that his treework is aesthetically attractive. The written estimate submitted within a couple of days was precise and business-like, with full details of his insurance cover. Although I did not engage G & R to carry out the work on this occasion, I would not hesitate to ask Richard to quote next time.

As a result of the November storm we had a tree that was rotten at the base, left in a wobbly dangerous condition. G & R Tree Surgeons promptly came out and surveyed the work and emailed a quotation the same day. They came two working days later to remove the tree. Dealing with their office was very pleasant. The work was carried out very skilfully, avoiding damage to the fence on which the tree could easily have fallen, and also the garden. All residue of the tree was thoroughly cleared up. We couldn't be more satisfied.

I would recommend them. Nice people to deal with and they do a very good job including clearing up. But do make sure they only cut what you want . Their intentions are good. But their idea of what will be best, may not be yours. In my experience it is not enough to just tell the men when they come. One needs to watch and maybe stand over them when there are surrounding branches one does not want touched.

The second time I have used G & R Tree Surgeons- they are efficient, good value, get the job done and leave the place tidy. They were careful with not damaging any shrubs and fencing. Antony and James were both polite and extremely helpful. I would recommend them anytime.

We have used G&R Tree Surgeons four times now. First in 2013, then 2104, 2015, and now in 2019. We have been extremely satisfied. Their quotation spells out the work to be done, and they do this meticulously. I would re-iterate what another reviewer said. When any tree surgeons arrive one should go round the garden with them and say exactly what you are expecting to be done. Then you should watch now and then, to make sure it is will be as expected, especially with any trees where special care needs to be taken of too much being taken off. With G&R one can also later request more is taken off to get the shape of tree one wants. I find that that the men from G&R are receptive to all requests and comments. When the work is finished they clear up very well. They have always been competitive, but I would now be prepared to pay slightly more, knowing the quality of their work, and the service they give.

I cannot recommend G&R Tree Surgeons too highly. I have now used them five times. This last time it was to cut down six large Cypress trees all about 30 metres tall. G&R came equipped with exactly the right modern tools to do the job and carried it out very efficiently. No damage was caused to nearby property. The site was cleaned thoroughly before they departed. The men involved were very pleasant to deal with, and we consulted each other as the work progressed. I will always get quotations for tree work, but I will willingly pay a little bit extra to have G&R.

I used this company a couple of years ago and was happy with the work carried out. I got a quote, booked and confirmed a job for work to be carried out in March 2022. Even though the price had increased for the same work completed previously, I didn’t question this as was happy with their previous work. On the day of the job, no one arrived at the agreed time and after an hour I called the office and left a message. I eventually received a call 3 and ½ hours after the agreed start time and explained that no one had arrived. I was then called back to say that someone had called in ill and an emergency job had come up and they had missed our job. They eventually said they would try and get to me around 2pm. In the end I told them not to bother as I had appointments that could not be rearranged. I did not receive any call to say about delays or any real apology, even though specific arrangements had been made to be at home on the morning of the work. It is a shame, as I was happy with the work carried out a couple of years ago and was even willing to accept a rise in price without question but I cannot recommend this company after these recent events.
