I have been experiencing an intermittent RCD tripping problem and rang Richard to arrange a visit. We talked through the problem on the phone and he suggested a number of options I could try to help focus in on the problem. One suggestion was to connect the fridge/freezer to socket on a different circuit to the one that is tripping. I did this and the RCD for that circuit tripped, pinpointing that the problem is with the fridge/freezer. My thanks to Richard who gave his professional advice without personal gain. Very admirable in this day and age.

I have been really impressed with all aspects of our dealings with Richard at Galvin. I asked Richard to complete a partial re-wire of our house and install a new consumer unit. His responses to my initial enquiry were very prompt, and he was very accommodating when it came to organising the initial visit, by agreeing an evening. All work was completed within the agreed time scale of a week and to a very high standard. It is clear the Richard takes great pride in his work and he wanted to ensure that everything was perfect before he finished. He is also incredibly tidy, constantly cleaning up as he went, and ensuring the house was left in a comfortable condition over night. On a personal level, both Richard and his colleague were friendly and easy to deal with throughout the week. The quotation that was given was also very competitive when compared to others we had received. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend Galvin to anyone.

Called Galvin Electrical at 8am in a panic. We'd taken down a light fitting in our new house and realised we couldn't put the new one back up. He said he could easily fix it and would be with us at 12. He arrived 15 mins early and showed us how to do it. He even checked our fuse board and updated that. He was absolutely brilliant!! I had a complete rewire and can honestly say that Richard (and Pete) were absolutely brilliant. They worked quickly and accurately and removed more wire than I thought possible for a house to contain. i really didn't know how to comment about the cleanliness of work as all the walls were chased out for the new wiring which created a lot of dust which is still settling. I have no hesitation in recommending Richard for work he is a really nice man who did an excellent job for a reasonable price. What more could one ask.

My partner and I booked Richard and his co!league Peter to carry out a number of jobs in an Ipswich flat owned by me - upgrading two single 13 amp wall sockets to doubles, replacing an unserviceable double wall socket, checking (and if necessary replacing) the cooker supply panel and installing a replacement room thermostat for the central heating. Having arrived at the arranged time, the first job they undertook was to install an RCD unit bedside the fuse box, as the flat had previously lacked this essential piece of safety equipment. Richard found the cooker panel compliant with current requirements, so we decided not to replace it. The most time-consuming job turned out to be the thermostat replacement, because of over-complex wiring in the airing cupboard! Our plumber was also at the flat that day, so they worked together to solve the problem and leave the system in full working order. Cheerful, friendly, informative and efficient, they provided excellent value! Highly recommended.

Galvin Electrical fitted electricity into my fathers garage, the job was completed on time & the team even worked around the contents in the garage - not a mean feat.
