"Nick recently re-set a large paving stone on our property which was causing a trip hazard. Nick was very responsive, professional and undertook the work to a high standard. This is the third time that Nick has undertaken work for us and we have been very pleased with the results."

"Nick and his team were initially contracted to remove a concrete cap on one of our chimneys and replace it with a mortar top to install chimney pots and cowls. Additionally he repaired cracks in the chimney brickwork and pointing. Pleased with the outcome and we have since invited Nick back to the property to undertake further building works and to take a walk around the building to identify any issues. It was as a result of this visit that Nick correctly identified an issue with a lintel which we are in the process of investigating sooner. I highly recommend Nick and his team"

Before you hire a plumber

Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top — in writing — before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced — get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
Gas and boiler work is a separate, regulated trade — not general plumbing. Make sure anyone working on a gas appliance is specifically registered to do gas work, and ask to see that registration before they start.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
Check any verified credentials, and that the business details independently check out.
