We had a relatively new kitchen installed just four years ago, but the quality was poor, and it proved impossible to replace damaged doors or source spares. Bryan guided us through the options without having to replace the entire kitchen. We agreed to replace the doors, end panels, and plinths with no drama. We now have a kitchen that’s better than new. Outstanding quality, professionalism, and service throughout. If you go elsewhere, you will only be disappointed. An excellent team."

From start to finish, Hawkers were a pleasure to deal with. From initial visit to quotation and then installation, we knew we were dealing with a professional company. If you want a flat pack, this isn’t for you - but if you want a bespoke, very high standard wardrobe, designed and fitted, I can’t recommend Bryan and his son enough. We could have paid less, but we are delighted we invested as we now have a wardrobe that will stand the test of time."

But if you want a high quality, purpose built wardrobe, fitted by traditional craftsmen, then I would highly recommend Hawkers. We had several cheaper options, but we paid a little extra and we are very happy with our bespoke, high quality, fully fitted wardrobe - which sits perfectly in our master bedroom."

Before you hire an architect
Only someone on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register may legally call themselves an 'architect' in the UK — ask for their ARB number and check it free at arb.org.uk. An 'architectural designer' or 'technologist' is a different, unregistered role (often capable, but not the same protection).
Agree how they charge before any work starts — a percentage of the build cost, a fixed fee, or an hourly rate — and exactly which stages it covers (concept design, planning application, building-regulations drawings, work on site), so there are no surprises later.
Confirm what they will actually handle versus what is excluded — the planning application, the building-control drawings, and whether they will administer the builder's contract on site — and get it, and a portfolio of similar projects, in writing.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
