Highlights

"Dave came to inspect the wiring to our cooker and was very helpful. He did not suggest unnecessary work; in fact, he showed us that the regulations are met as is, and there's no concern. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Dave again for any future electrical work."

"Dave replaced a very old and broken fan in our Bathroom - he went above and beyond in ensuring the perfect finish despite working with less than ideal conditions. He even built some bespoke boxing to cover up some questionable previous work. Thank you Dave - we are very grateful and we can highly recommend your services!"

"Almost as soon as I made the request for an electrician on Checkatrade Dave responded. I wrote down what we needed to be done and he wrote back saying he could do the job in a fortnight’s time with an estimate. So we agreed a day and time. He arrived on time and did an extremely good job at a sensible price. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him to other potential clients because of his business like approach, good workmanship and reasonable costs."

Smart checks

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
