Highlights

"I posted the job on checkatrade late Wednesday afternoon. By Thursday morning their very friendly admin called me and notified me that an engineer could come out later that day. 9.50am the engineer knocks on my door. Amazing service. Matt the engineer was very knowledgeable! He was able to diagnose the issue after some investigating. We thought the main heat exchange had gone on the boiler after 2 different engineers and our insurance company concluded that was the issue. It wasn't this at all and it was a blocked condensation pipe. Great service all round and would definitely use again"

"I phoned jps as I had a emergency severe water leak which had started coming through the ceiling . They were very quick in sending Matt who explained the problem and dealt with it very quickly I would recommend the company to anyone who is in a situation and needs a plumber engineer etc"

"I’ve used JPS on more than one occasion, from large jobs such as installing a boiler to simpler jobs like changing a radiator. They’ve been great every time. The quality of their work is good, and everything this time was completed, as usual, to a high standard. Communication with me was clear and timely both before and after the appointment, and helped make the whole process really straightforward. Highly recommended!"

Gas work is restricted by law to Gas Safe registered engineers. If they'll touch a boiler or any gas appliance, confirm they're currently on the register before you hire - it's free and takes a minute.

Smart checks

Before you hire a gas engineer

By law, anyone working on your gas appliances must be on the Gas Safe Register — ask to see their Gas Safe ID card and check the licence number at gassaferegister.co.uk before they start.
Never let an unregistered person touch your gas: unsafe gas work risks carbon monoxide poisoning, fire and explosion, and is a criminal offence.
For a boiler or appliance install, get the work and price in writing and keep the Gas Safe / Building Regulations certificate they are required to give you.
Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
Read recent reviews for reliability and turning up on time — not only the quality of the work.
