We had a complete downstairs renovation. New kitchen,new floor,new radiators and fully decorated. Billy and his team did a fantastic job very clean and quick. A great professional firm and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Bill did a fantastic job of our home extension. We ran in to several problems along the way and he found solutions to them all, each time ensuring the design was solid before progressing. The project included steels underground, new foundations as well as building on an existing extension, fitting a bathroom, painting and Bill managed the project from start to finish. We had regular updates on progress and Bill was always quick to answer our queries. All tradespeople who worked on the project were professional and friendly. The team at Lakes completely redid our bathroom, taking it back to bare brick, changing plumbing and electrics and building out boxing around a complex array of existing pipework. The finished product is beautiful with and excellent finish with superb attention to detail as always.

Our garage floor needed fixing. The team advised what would be suitable to do the job properly, were clear about how to fix it for long term results. They assessed the site and managed to fit our small job in quite promptly. Communication was great at all stages and the team worked solidly. They were punctual, friendly and did a great job. I would recommend them.

We were recommended to Lakes Builders by friends that had previously used their services and highly recommended them. Our project was a full kitchen refurbishment including supply and fitting the kitchen, electrics & plumbing and new flooring. The works carried out ran very smoothly and was managed by bill very well, making sure we were kept up to date with every part of the process. To have a full concept to completion service without any problems was just amazing. We will definitely be using Lakes Builders again in the future.

Can't fault Billy and the team. They were punctual and tidy through out the project and communication was excellent. Very happy with the standard of work and the level of care taken and very happy with the end result. I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend.

Following a call with Bill, he came to the house to discuss the work. Bill came across as very knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and polite. The refurbishment started in June and just finished - all done to a very high standard. Bill managed the whole project and his team (electrician, plumbers, plasterers) brilliantly, keeping me up to date on progress and working around my nightmare schedule! Zane was also very polite and hard working. Bill does not cut corners and is a perfectionist. If we require further such work, he will be at the top of my list to call. Cannot recommend them enough!

Bill Lakes took on a job left unfinished by a builder who let me down. Although he considered it a potentially difficult job (cladding and insulating rather an ugly and delapidated extension), he took it on and was able to overcome any problems met quickly and effectively. He was always punctual and he worked hard and tidily, with a good attention to detail and determination to do everything as well as possible. He always arrived when he said he would, and so did the people working with him. The job is nearly finished but in the meantime I have asked him to do another one.

Having done a number of renovation and extension jobs for us, we asked Lakes to continue the decorating that had done on a previous job to the rest of the house. This included prepping all of the naturally coloured skirting boards and door frames to be painted white, as well as decorating 3 bedrooms and a 2-level landing with uneven ceilings. As ever, Bill and Zane provided excellent advice on finish and colour options and were very accommodating of all of the furniture moving that had to be done, impacting timelines. The quality of work was excellent and we are very pleased.

Having done our downstairs renovation work Lakes was at the top of our list when we needed some work done upstairs. They sourced and fitted new doors for us with handles, staining them and returning to trim them once our new carpets were fitted. As always, they did an excellent job with high quality craftsmanship and a great work ethic.

New floors laid throughout downstairs. Oak laminate, lovely finish, has transformed the flow through the rooms. Updated modern finish with new skirting boards and architraves. Fantastic job, good ideas and vision. Thank you so much.

Job was done when agreed, result looks very good

Our house needed modernising and Bill found and fitted some lovely new doors with very nice handles. It has transformed our downstairs, making it look much smarter. Bill has a very good eye for what works, the price quoted was what we paid. Bill and Zane are friendly, super polite, tidy and efficient.

My house is very old and the renovations were not simple. Bill explained what was happening through the whole process. The price quoted was the price paid despite the job being even more complex. The results were amazing. This is the second time I have used Bill on a big project.

Having carried out our extension Lakes then did some internal renovation for us, laying a new floor, new skirting and complete redecoration. Alongside this Bill also fitted new internal doors for us. Bill has a clear eye for detail and gave us a clear breakdown of what was possible and a quote for each part. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, down to the small details, including where the new skirting met the existing staircase. We would use Lakes without hesitation for any future work on our house.

Bill’s work was excellent. He was always on time and he did a great job in fixing one of our bedrooms. The room needed a ton of work which included ripping an old poorly done wardrobe that even covered open gaping holes in the wall. And thanks to the weird shape of the roof, the wardrobe needed even more attention to detail which Bill did. He managed to fix everything and we are very happy and grateful for his good work. Our only points of concern are that Bill could have done a better job of vacuuming up the saw dust in the room. Also the shelves could have better tight finishing.

Bill did an absolutely brilliant job with our garage conversion and extension. The extension, while small, proved to be a lot more complicated to build than we had thought but Bill found a way around each and every hurdle. He worked closely with building control to ensure everything was agreed before proceeding so the whole process ran smoothly. Bill also did the project management which was handled very well, with clear communication at all stages and a clear view of both a short term and longer term plan. Bill and Zane were lovely to work with, not just professional but friendly too!
