Hello, I’m Paola, architect and founder of Lumio Designs, which I established in 2015. Originally from Italy, I’m now happily based in Bristol, where I bring together creativity and practical UK architectural experience in every project. As a freelance architect in Bristol, I work directly with homeowners as well as in collaboration with local architectural practices and fellow architects. While most of my projects are in and around Bristol, my background also includes architectural design experience across Italy. Sustainability is at the heart of my design philosophy. Before founding Lumio Designs, my studies focused on sustainable and eco-friendly architecture, exploring how buildings can reduce their environmental impact. I believe a good design should not only look beautiful but also work responsibly with the environment — a principle that guides every project I take on. I am passionate about helping homeowners turn their ideas into reality through thoughtful and creative architectural design. My work focuses on residential architecture — transforming and enhancing existing homes to make them more functional, comfortable and suited to modern living. I specialise in house extensions, internal reconfigurations and renovations, and garage conversions.
