I'm doing this in the hope that Matt calls me as I've been leaving him messages for over a week. Our paving job was pencilled in for starting on Monday 16th june but I can't get hold of Matt to confirm so may have to start again with quotes from other companies.
The trader did not respond to my job request - not even to decline
I asked Matt to lay a new patio area for me, he had some great suggestions of how to use the space. Really pleased with how the job turned out, the guys were quick and professional and the finish looks great ! They even cleaned up some original block paving so the whole thing looks brand new. Definitely recommend

Never pay a large deposit up front — agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
Be wary of a cash-only price or pressure to start tomorrow — both are red flags for an unaccountable job.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
