Richard came to view the proposed work, provided really useful advice that helped with my decision-making and made me confident in his experience with treating older houses re the damp issues they can experience. During the work itself, he was always punctual, extremely tidy, showed me each step of the process, talked me through what he was doing and why. Before he left, he answered all my questions on what might happen next, how long to wait before re-instating decoration and the do's and don'ts I need to follow when I do. Also said I could whatsapp photos over to him if I ever had any queries or concerns. He finished on schedule and washed my floor on his way out. Professional to a T and a lovely man to boot. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I'm really happy with my new bathroom. Richard was a pleasure to work with. He is reliable, communicates well and has lots of good design ideas, but always consulted me before making choices. His prices are competitive with no compromise on the quality of the work. I will definitely ask him do carry out more projects here in future.

The shower drain was blocked and water flowed under the door on to the upstairs landing, through the ceiling to the kitchen below. Richard sorted this blocked shower pipe very quickly and efficiently. He also replaced 2 basin taps in the bathroom along with replacing a garden tap. Richard sourced and fitted a beautiful new external oak door which suited my home. He ensured the new locks fitted correctly and that the door was weather tight. He discussed all options for harware etc. to ensure he sourced items I would like. He is approachable and knowledgeable. Happy to discuss his choices and really good at explaining the nuances. Del has been great, painting and decorating to a high standard. Paying attention to detail, he made improvements to our décor, came up with solutions to problems, clearly explaining the work to be carried out and materials to be used. I have no hesitation in recommending him and will use him again in the future.

Richard was strongly recommended to me from friends who have used "trust a trader" with mixed reviews and opinions. Thankfully Richard was scoring a 10/10 so I asked Richard to quote me for a variety of works from plumbing, tiling and various painting modes. In my opinion Richard is a skilled tradesman who takes the time to take on any task with the proper attitude of competing the tasks in the correct manner. My old apprentice teacher always said, "there's only one way to do a job, and that's the proper way". Floor tiling repair on bathroom, contacted UCS and Richard came back very quickly. I don't live near the address and the trader was able to deal with the tenant which was really helpful. Kept me updated with regular photos, would recommend and will use in the future.

From the start Richard was very helpful and clear about what he intended to do. He tanked my basement and damp proofed a large part of my flat. Plaster work was excellent as was all other works. Richard did a great job of refurbishing our bathroom. From the beginning he was reliable, punctual and always very respectful of my tenants space. He completed the job, with a high standard of finishes, good workmanship and always kept us up to date on any difficulties he might have encountered or changes we might need to consider making. When there was a malfunction of the shower mixer, he came back , made sure he found the issue and repaired it . This was over a weekend and there were no delays in him returning to help sort out the problem. Richard was professional, friendly and meticulous in his work and we are thrilled with the end product. I was looking at getting in 3 separate traders in to fix the Electrics / Rising Damp / uninstall + refit kitchen units. After speaking with Richard, with his knowledge and expertise , I was able to get him to do all of the above , too a very good standard .

Richard dampproofed two internal walls (one ground floor, one first floor) for us, replaced a window (which required widening the size of the aperture), moved a radiator and installed new electric sockets. From the outset, he was very clear, identifying where damp had entered (something that previous tradesmen had failed to do) and explaining clearly what needed doing. His pricing was clearly itemised. He was punctual, worked neatly and cleanly, and his work is excellent - he's also an absolute pleasure to have around. I'd recommend him without hesitation.

When searching for a contractor to fix my damp problem I looked at around sixty companies. Only a limited number carried out work other than the damp proofing: moving furniture, disconnecting electrics, skirting board and radiator removal sometimes all require additional contractors. I chose UCS construction services because Richard could carry out all these requirements, including replacing a ring-main, installing a laminated oak wooden floor, fitting ACO drainage channels to front and side elevation, some pointing and replacing soft bricks and some additional paving. The work was completed in around eight weeks including the Christmas holiday period to budget and estimates that were competitive. The problem of a faulty damp proof course (DPC) and very damp walls has now been remedied. The new DPC installed and other treatments means that the walls are now perfectly dry. Thanks Richard. Richard was excellent throughout the job of dampproofing a corner of our living room. He has excellent communication and can work around your schedule. Would recommend him to anyone, and will use his services again should I need them.
