New Stairs fitting please. Not turned up

New Staircase Nice man, however not a carpenter, maybe a bog standard odd job man at the most. Over £3,000.00 on a new glass and oak staircase and it has been fitted appallingly. Cost hundreds to put right. Would not use again

Doors hanging architraves and skirting all the house DO NOT CONTACT THIS MAN He started my job the first week in September 2022 he fitted 7 doors which dont close properly.costing £300 to fit he then charged me £380 for skirting and architraves and £600 for a cupboard under my stairs he asked on 2 occasions for money said he was skint and needed to pay bills.he has ripped off chunks of plaster off all my walls,left the place in a complete state all the doors and architraves/ skirting are piled up on my drive said he would remove for £125, the cupboard i asked for has been left with no door and just a frame said i need to get a plasterer in to finish it he didnt mention this when he quoted me and didnt even board it up he has had over a £1000 off me and ignoring my calls. He comes across genuine and friendly but he is a liar and a theif. He doesn't start while after 10am and gone before 3pm. Do not entertain him, mybuild NEEDS TO STOP ADVERTISING for him he is ripping vulnerable customers off

Staircase refurb and new balustrades Nigel is a really nice guy but he took an age to get the job done and the final work is not good. He would often show for only an hour or 2 a day then claim he had to go for supplies and not return. Despite providing a payment timetable he would also chase for additional money to pay his son. The original timetable was 3 weeks and I think we ended up closer to 3 months. The finish of the staircase is really substandard and the more I look at it the more disappointing it gets. Poor finishes, joins, trimming etc. In the end I told him I would finish them myself. The stairs are also really creaky despite numerous attempts to fix them. Nigel’s price was competitive but I’m going to have to spend much more correcting the problems. A bit of a false economy.

New spindles / banister for staircase Didnt come something wrong wih his van. I had to put holiday days in at work for him as well. I no thing go wrong but a business should have something in place for if it does so wouldn't recommend him to anybody. Answer from tradesperson: Unfortunately I don’t have a massive cash flow to pay for repairs to my van and hire a van at the same time. As I’m a sole trade and work to pay for my living ie bill and insurances. I did offer to reschedule but you declined which is understandable and once again I do apologise Reply created 24 May 2022

New doors & staircase Brilliant job!! Priced the job quickly and fairly, turned up on time and completed the work to a high standard. Al ready hired him to do other jobs and recommended to family.

New bannister and stair rail Extremely pleased with our new glass bannister. We absolutely love it. So pleased with the work Nigel did he was very efficient. We have also asked him to come back to do us a dog kennel under the stairs and put some skirting up.

Hang internal doors Excellent service lovely genuine man

Stairs Nigel came to install a brand new staircase (banister, spindles etc) whixh has now been made safe as it was very wobbly and the newel posts weren't even stable - we were so pleased with the job he and his son had done, that we hired him for a second time to update our skirting boards (on the landing), internal doors upstairs, as well as new architraves and dado rail. We are in the process of updating the whole house and can't believe the difference (although nowhere near finished) it has made already. We will definitely hire Nigel for any future carpentry /joinery work. Once again - thank you.

New staircase fitting He came over and looked at the job and said he would ring me with a price.lt was over a week before he got back to me and he gave me date when he would do the job but he never turned up. (Updated on 19 Dec 2020) Answer from tradesperson: I didn’t not just turn up I ask for a deposit for materials (door and all the bits that go with it and door frame) and was refused it as he didn’t trust me there for told the customer I was unwilling to do the job as I have had previous problems with not being paid for materials I’ve paid for after I’ve fitted them. Loft hatch alterations Excellent job done. Good communication, good time keeping, job done exactly as I wanted, when complete everything left clean and tidy. No problems at all. Would definately recommend. 👍👍👍👍
