"After my initial enquiry, Susan got me booked in with John pretty quickly. When John arrived to look at the job, he identified the issue & ordered a new part. John replaced the part within the week. I am very happy with the whole experience from start to finish. Top job throughout."

"Very very impressed with this company. Susan was in touch with me within minutes of my enquiry and arranged for Jon to attend in 2 days time as it was a weekend. He arrived bang on time and liaised with my landlord regarding the replacement of the appliance. He ordered it and fitted it within a week. Jon also kept me up to date via mobile message advising when he would be arriving. I havent used check a trade previously but I will definitely do so again. Excellent prompt service from both Susan and Jon at Niche and I would most definitely go to them first in the future."

Smart checks

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
Check any verified credentials, and that the business details independently check out.
