Highlights

"Contacted through checkatrade, showed up and offered a free quote. Was happy for me to go away and get more quotes but I ultimately went with them for the work. Good communication, explained everything well and offered a fair price for the job."

"right from the initial contact Jay was pleasant and professional. 2 others came with him to do the work and they were all great. The leak I had was quite long standing and, up to this point, I hadn't found anyone I had confidence in to sort it. Jay's initial inspection to quote was so thorough that I had confidence he knew what the problem was and could sort it. It's hard to be certain with a slow leak but I'm feeling optimistic so far. He spotted some extra work he recommended I need doing and has quoted for that. would definitely recommend"

"Excellent service all round from Jay and his team, visited my home promptly after the first enquiry to assess the work required, got back to me quickly with a quote and they were able to complete the work within two weeks. I was kept fully informed at every step of the process, and I really appreciated the guys persevering through the wet and cold weather to finish the job to a high standard. Just want to say a massive thanks to the whole team and I would definitely recommend them in the future!"

"Architect" is a title protected by law - only people on the official Architects Register (held by ARB) may use it. Confirm they're on it before you commission a design.

Check the Architects Register
Smart checks

Before you hire an architect

Only someone on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register may legally call themselves an 'architect' in the UK — ask for their ARB number and check it free at arb.org.uk. An 'architectural designer' or 'technologist' is a different, unregistered role (often capable, but not the same protection).
Agree how they charge before any work starts — a percentage of the build cost, a fixed fee, or an hourly rate — and exactly which stages it covers (concept design, planning application, building-regulations drawings, work on site), so there are no surprises later.
Confirm what they will actually handle versus what is excluded — the planning application, the building-control drawings, and whether they will administer the builder's contract on site — and get it, and a portfolio of similar projects, in writing.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
