"Ben and his colleagues did a great job installing our kitchen, and were easily able to solve all sorts of issues we hadn't foreseen in practical and cost-effective ways, like a full fuse board and repositioning the water stopcock. They kept in touch with us throughout the job, and were happy to come back to sort out final touches at a later date. Communication was great overall, they were friendly and professional, and always tidied up well at the end of each day. We've since had them back on other projects, and they've continued to do an excellent job."
"Ben was prompt with calling giving a very competitive quote. He also provided a full list of materials required including measurements making purchasing of worktops etc much easier. Although being busy, he was able to fit us in within our timeframe. Ben, Michael and 2 apprentices started the work approximately 3 weeks after first visiting. The work was completed to a very high standard and everything tidy on completion. We can’t praise these guys enough. We’d like to say more but limited on the review. Thank you again for the work. Highly recommended"

Before you hire an architect
Only someone on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register may legally call themselves an 'architect' in the UK — ask for their ARB number and check it free at arb.org.uk. An 'architectural designer' or 'technologist' is a different, unregistered role (often capable, but not the same protection).
Agree how they charge before any work starts — a percentage of the build cost, a fixed fee, or an hourly rate — and exactly which stages it covers (concept design, planning application, building-regulations drawings, work on site), so there are no surprises later.
Confirm what they will actually handle versus what is excluded — the planning application, the building-control drawings, and whether they will administer the builder's contract on site — and get it, and a portfolio of similar projects, in writing.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
