I booked an appointment with James to view the job. He gave me a quote and we booked for work to be completed . The whole job was stress free as they arrived on time, kept me informed, and provided an invoice. I had brickwork replaced and damp proofing. I will definitely use them again in the future

Jimmy and his team recently fixed a leak in our conservatory roof. He came the same day to assess the roof and helped with interim damage control, and his team arrived the next morning to fix the problem. Everyone was really friendly and professional, and they waited until after the next rainy day to make sure the leak was fixed before requesting payment. Overall a very positive experience!

Quick response to enquiry and called in to assess work the same day. Open and honest discussion of options and an instant quote for scope of work agreed. Arrived on time with a small team who sourced materials from a local supplier they work with. Job completed in an hour or so. No payment requested until after the first significant rainfall to make sure the problem was resolved. Truly ‘old school’ builders.

Jimmy was very honest and knowledgeable about our problem. His team Craig and Steve was excellent and was very clean, careful and thorough with the repairs, cleaning as they went and left everything super clean and tidy afterwards. They even replaced the broken and slipped tiles with restored tiles so that it would be sympathetic to the rest of the roof! It’s hard to find a specialist to trust for historic properties, I will definitely be asking Jimmy and his team to help me out again for other areas of the property.

This is the second time we used Old School Builders for their roofing expertise. Jimmy always kept us up to date with what was happening with the external scaffolding company and Jimmy’s team replaced our damaged roof felt promptly. Couldn’t recommend their services enough.

Had our old style tiles replaced on both the front and rear of our house with modern Upvc cladding. Entire job took three days and was completed to a fantastic standard. Dan the principle roofer on our job was extremely experienced and skilled and took great pride in ensuring a high quality job completion. So impressed with the cladding work result, we had no hesitation in using Old School Builders to carry out further work to repair our roof. One hundred per cent recommend Old School Builders.

Excellent quick response from Jimmy and his team who came out to look and gave me the options of what the solutions were. I went with the shorter term option for the moment. Then came around later the same day and made good the repairs. Very honest. Very clear. I could not recommend more highly and will use again when I need the roof done fully.

Jimmy helped with the tiles on the front of our house, in particular, cutting the tiles to fit around our gas meter and pipe. He gave us a reasonable quote as was able to complete the work the very next day. The quality of the work is excellent and we couldn't ask for more.

Came round same day to assess a leak in our kitchen roof, found two tiles out of place and replaced them both, polite and communicated well.

Dan did a great job removing our old small window and fitting our bigger windows. Very quick and very cleanly left after the job was done. We are still to finish the inside as a DIY project, so I can still see into the cavity. With this, I am checking for any leaks that would be easily visible at this stage but it all is staying dry. So no problems, fitted as we wanted, finished up to what we instructed, affordable and just a pleasant guy. Would come back in the future for other projects we will have lined up.

That was about least stressful business transaction I have had to make in years. Until he was satisfied the job was done properly, he would not take payment. I will certainly be using him again. This was a rental property, i just needed a decent fix, and I got it. Many Thanks

Jimmy was the first to get in touch after I posted an ad on checkatrade. Very professional, local, honest and transparent. Within 1 hour of talking on the phone, Danny turned up and fixed the front door in half an hour. Danny offered sound professional advice and a pleasant courteous service. Put a job on checkatrade when I discovered my roof had a leak overnight, called immediately to arrange someone to come same day. Guy was super nice and explained that he had found a cracked tile. Luckily he had a spare in his van, so swapped it out there and then, in time for a storm warning that evening. Good rates too! Would recommend.
