Highlights

"We had a sizzling socket that tripped our electrics - the same circuit that the boiler was on, leaving us without hot water or heating. Rich was able to see us really quickly. He isolated the problem and sorted it out in a calm methodical manner. He's clearly very experienced and able to deal with all sorts of problems - even in our old Victorian house with dodgy electrics! I fully recommend him - he was also friendly, approachable and seems like an all round nice person!"

"Richard has previously worked at my property, replacing two electric showers, so was the obvious choice when I decided to replace my ancient storage heaters with modern electric radiators. As part of the works, we also decided to have a new fuse board installed. Richard was brilliant from start to finish, arriving on time for both the spec out and the actual installation. The work carried out was done in a timely fashion and all mess was tidied up before the end of the job. I felt very comfortable leaving Richard alone to work while I went to work."

Smart checks

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
