Steve came today to check out 2 areas in my flat which had damp walls. I was concerned that it might be rising damp but he examined both walls and diagnosed the problems. Steve Shoesmith came round end of January to damp proof a couple of walls. Steve was very professional but also personable and kind. Steve arrived bang on time and carried out the work very efficiently. Steve cleaned up after the work so well that you would not have thought work was being done on the walls. I found Steve on the checkatrade website, his reviews were really good so I asked him for a quote to instal a new damp proof course, remove and replaster sections in our living room and hall. The quote was a fair price and the work was carried out on the dates and times agreed. Steve was a really nice person and gave us a lot of advice and the quality of the work was excellent, the rooms left clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend Steve for any damp problems.

I bought a basement flat near the sea that needed proofing in two rooms and fan installations in the bathroom and under the house steps. Steve did an outstanding job over two weeks, cleared all mess, and left the place better than I did. Great communication and a friendly man. Highly recommended.

Steve's quality of work is vary high, arrived on time at 8.30 as he advised us. Cleaned up all mess during and when finished. Also recommended Steve a plumber to carry out an extra job that was outstanding in the same room.

Steve created damp proofing in an external wall in my dining room. He took the plaster off, injected the damp proofing to replace the old one that had eroded. He would have replastered but I liked the look of the barebrick so much that he stripped the rest of the wall instead and made a lovely feature all. Everything about Steve was excellent, workmanship, tidiness, friendliness, experience, trustworthiness. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Steve came on time to give an assessment of an issue with damp in the bathroom. Following his recommendation to install a humidity extractor he sent a quote. Unfortunately there was some miscommunication between us, him and his electrician so we didn't know when the work was being done...once resolved the work was carried out quickly and cleanly....so far so good.

Inspected problem area and suggested a 'paint' remedy to external wall surface. Not taken further because this company did not undertake such work. No charge for advice.
