Highlights

"We have used Garfield before and always found him to be reliable, punctual, tidy, friendly and very professional. He explains clearly what he is going to do and how much it will cost. We will not hesitate to use him again and recommend him to others."

"I was recommended to Gareth by another electrician, which gave me confidence in booking him and he did a great job. He was able to attend a property that I am going through the process of buying within just a few days, which I really appreciated. He carried out a thorough safety check and a EICR. The report was sent over the very same day, which was incredibly efficient. He also followed up with an email to offer further clarification if needed and so felt reassured that everything was done properly."

"Huge shout out to 1st fix electricals I can’t praise or recommend this company enough, from the initial distribution board install, testing , to the final cleanup, Garfield and Dane were friendly, respectful, and thorough. Garfield answered all my questions and in my opinion went above and beyond. I felt in safe hands throughout, and their quote was fully transparent. I would also like to emphasise that as drilling was involved they cleaned up to a very high standard, So If you want a professional trustworthy electrician then stop looking and call 1st fix now, you won't be disappointed."

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
Read recent reviews for reliability and turning up on time — not only the quality of the work.
