Highlights

"Required a new fuse box. Quote received was good and the electrician was very accommodating about when we needed the work to be done. He was prompt on the day and commenced work immediately. Although there were one or two snags due to the layout of the building he overcame these without any complaint. He was polite and friendly throughout, clearing up any mess as he went along. When the work was completed he hoovered up. A job well done. We were so impressed that we have hired him to do another job for us."

"Andy did a great job. He responded promptly to my initial request, explained exactly what was required and the cost, and made sure he came at a time that was convenient for me, not just for him. He came on time, was very pleasant and respectful, did the work quickly and efficiently, and made sure he did not leave any mess. I would highly recommend him, and would definitely use him again."

Smart checks

Before you hire an electrician

In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
