"We had a big job done in the house and if i did it alone would have taken months but we are so glad we got someone in to save us time and the hard work, I’ve got to say Dean and his mate worked their socks off lol. They dug out the old dirt floor (which was a massive amount of hard graft), laid the brand new floor consisting of scalpings, insultaion DPM and the screed. As well as building a new stairs wall to replace the older one being knocked down. Everything was finished to a high standard, and they were tidy and reliable throughout. We’re really happy with the end result. 10/10"

Never pay a large deposit up front — agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
