Highlights

"Gavin is punctual, friendly and efficient. Was extremely relieved that he came in and discovered the problem with little preamble and swiftly put everything right. I will definitely recommend his services."

"We engaged Gavin to install a new kitchen tap for us without realising that the tap we had was for a high pressure system (which we do not have). We were very conscious that we had perhaps wasted his time, but he assured us that we had not and whilst with us, offered some very useful advice regarding our existing plumbing and boiler maintenance. As soon as we do have the correct tap, Gavin will be the first person that we call."

"I asked Gavin to come out to investigate why my water pressure was low on my kitchen tap. He came out to see me within a day, exactly on time and it's always a pleasure to have him in the house. He quickly identified the problem as a faulty tap and even took the trouble to go and buy me a new one from the local supplier. He fitted it within a short time and checked everything was in order and I was happy with it. He also replaced a missing butterfly clip on my washing machine waste pipe which he noticed had come off. Price was as quoted and a truly brilliant service as usual."

Gas work is restricted by law to Gas Safe registered engineers. If they'll touch a boiler or any gas appliance, confirm they're currently on the register before you hire - it's free and takes a minute.

Smart checks

Before you hire a gas engineer

By law, anyone working on your gas appliances must be on the Gas Safe Register — ask to see their Gas Safe ID card and check the licence number at gassaferegister.co.uk before they start.
Never let an unregistered person touch your gas: unsafe gas work risks carbon monoxide poisoning, fire and explosion, and is a criminal offence.
For a boiler or appliance install, get the work and price in writing and keep the Gas Safe / Building Regulations certificate they are required to give you.
Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
Read recent reviews for reliability and turning up on time — not only the quality of the work.
