"Ben Fowler of BSF has done an amazingly beautiful job of redesigning and fitting our kitchen, turning an old, cramped kitchen into a spacious and dreamy one. Building work is always disruptive, but Bens’ team were friendly, polite, efficient, and tidy. Bens’ ability to see what a building area can become is nothing short of hindsight in the present, his advice was incredibly helpful in both building and design, even beating those in the design business. Bens’ ability to provide those things not so ‘off the shelf’ was very much appreciated, and his eye for colours is not to be sniffed at."
"Ben and his team are first rate. Simon, Gordon, Gary and Jade, Dean and the team of brickies, Jason, Lee and Luke etc. Are all excellent at what they do. Ben's team are great at not just looking at the plans, but thinking about the feasibility of them and ensuring they work for your needs. Nothing is too much trouble and they are all very responsive as well as a really nice bunch of guys. We had a barbecue for everyone towards the end of the work in the summer! A great team and we are thrilled with the extension they built us."

Before you hire a builder
Never pay a large deposit up front — agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
Be wary of a cash-only price or pressure to start tomorrow — both are red flags for an unaccountable job.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
