"We had been let down by a previous plasterer so thought we would try checkatrade. Mitch came to view when he said he would and quoted a very reasonable price. He came back 6 days later to plaster the ceiling and was very clean and tidy. We also had an awkward area on the wall to plaster too and some deep holes but nothing was too much trouble. The ceiling is drying out nicely and is beautifully smooth. A great job and a kind friendly man to deal with."

I found Mitch to be generally reliable in turning up on time to quote however the quote increased by 50%. Also disappointed being chased for payment when work was not completed but being told it was. Poor quality and choices like plastering in the fire alarm, damaging carpets and taking no care when fixing issues after being assured he would read my home like his own and wouldn't be left with issues. The quality of his work is poor in my experience in terms of neatness, perhaps my expectations were too high or unrealistic so I'll let the images speak for themselves.

Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top — in writing — before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
