"Robin" arranged to meet at a property to quote replacement of lead pipes. He didn't turn up, not even bothering to tell me he wouldn't be coming. When I called GCB to check, the first man I spoke with said I'd "called the wrong number", then checked with his colleague, who then came on the phone to say Robin had called in sick that morning. No apology. Neither Robin nor GCB had the decency or courtesy to at least tell me the meeting was cancelled beforehand. When an employee calls in sick, the intelligent thing a firm should do is tell the clients? £20 taxi fare wasted.
