Gerry replaced the canopy outside our back door with a new larger one, designed and built by himself. He carried out the work on the planned schedule despite the weather not being the greatest for outside work (returning promptly the following week to finish off when the final trim was delivered). He liaised helpfully with our electrician about the outside light. This is the second time we have used Gerry. He is very pleasant to deal with, makes useful suggestions, and delivers a great product. We recommend him highly.

Gerry Heron completely refurbished our two bathrooms and the cloakroom, including demolition of some 'false' bulkheads in the en-suite and an old airing cupboard (plus blocking up the cupboard door on the landing) to make both bathrooms bigger. The work was completed in a month, as scheduled, and the quality of workmanship was excellent, including the work Gerry subcontracted to a plasterer and a tiler. Gerry did everything else. We couldn't be happier with the end result and Gerry was very flexible when it came to working around our commitments and some other work we were having done at the same time. I strongly recommend Gerry for bathroom refurbishments and he is currently laying a new 'floating' vinyl tile floor for us in the hall, as well as the cloakroom. We also plan to use him to replace some internal doors in the near future. The only very minor criticism I have is that Gerry tends to drive projects forward at pace (which is good!!) but just make sure you clearly communicate exactly what you want and where you want small things like towel rails and other minor design details! Finally, and importantly, Heron Carpentry represents excellent value for money without the overheads of larger contractors.

Gerry and George did a fantastic job installing new fire doors and building a partition in a hallway. The partition was a bespoke piece of work and Gerry did a fine job creating an aesthetic which suited the existing hallway. I would highly recommend Heron carpentry. Gerry was very easy to deal with from start to finish and the job was reasonably priced. 5 stars all round.

Gerry did a fantastic job fitting our kitchen. From his first visit to provide the quote he understood what we were trying to achieve in terms of finish and cost and made suggestions accordingly. He worked with Howdens, who supplied the kitchen, to make sure everything was in order and delivered on schedule. He started the work on time and finished both ahead of schedule and on budget. He was incredibly easy to deal with throughout, including coordinating other tradespeople. Friends commented on how relaxed we were despite the building work which was largely down to Gerry! I would very happily work with him again and would highly recommend him.

Gerry did excellent work for our major kitchen refurbishment. We wished to renovate our kitchen which has 35 year old tailor-made maple wood cupboards. This involved retaining and revarnishing many cupboards while replacing others. Gerry undertook the stripping out, fitting of new sinks and taps, new radiator, new cupboards and organised the wall tiling above the worktops. He did complex work very skilfully, reducing a wooden “peninsula” bar by a metre, repositioning a cupboard under it, and reusing “tongued and grooved” wooden endpieces to keep the look of the original kitchen. He organised his work efficiently around other tradesmen (decorators, flooring company, electrician). Gerry is very professional and communicative and always ready to offer helpful suggestions. Gerry provided a very high quality, professional service throughout his time with us. He was commissioned to build a storage unit and shelves which span the length of our living room, as well as a fire place and chimney feature which house our TV. The job was technically challenging and required a fair amount of problem solving. Gerry successfully delivered both pieces of carpentry work to a very high standard and on time. He clearly understands cabinetry making extremely well. Gerry was easy to work with, he communicated well and co-ordinated the plasterer and decorator we needed himself. I would thoroughly recommend Gerry, and Heron Carpentry.

Gerry has done two jobs for us - both completed above our expectations. The first job was renovating a section of waney wooden cladding on the front of our house which had rotted over time. Gerry sourced and fitted the replacement cladding which now blends in perfectly with the original cladding. Gerry also designed and fitted a new corner walk-in corner pantry cupboard which looks as though it was always a part of our existing shaker style kitchen. Gerry is friendly, tidy, punctual and works hard to get things done in the time he has planned. Gerry is clearly an expert carpenter and I highly recommend him.

Gerry was a pleasure to work with. We needed a bespoke cupboard fitted to hide our boiler and he came over to assess what we wanted and gave great advice. He was communicative, helpful, efficient and produced great work. I wouldn't hesitate to book him again for another carpentry job.

Heron Carpentry was recommended by a close friend. All communication was with ease and very straightforward, nothing was complicated. I had experienced water damage in my property from a flat above. Heron Carpentry repaired damage to my bathroom and kitchen. This included replacing grout, sealant, plasterboard, all making good including painting. I felt very comfortable and confident with Heron Carpentry and in safe hands. A quotation was provided and the invoice followed. The finished result was very satisfactory and I would strongly recommend them. Having experienced a stressful time, previously with workmen and the stress of water ingress into my property, it was much appreciated relying on a company who understood my concerns, knew my requirements and followed through with a professional job.

I found Gerry Heron through Trustedtraders as I needed a door replaced that had fallen off a worn door jam. It was a challenging job, but Gerry came up with a great solution. At the same time I discussed with him the idea of installing a kitchen island to add storage and an extra worktop. No problem, he said, and came up with a plan, reasonable estimate and work schedule. Bottom line — he did a great job on both, and I love the island. He works to schedule, no faffing about, and bonus - he has a wonderful sense of humour. He is definitely top of the list for doing more jobs in future.

Gerry built custom bookshelves and a media unit for us that we're thrilled with, at a very reasonable and competitive price. He was able to start quickly on the project, turned it around in great time, and was happy to make any adjustments along the way as we needed or requested. A really friendly guy and very easy to work with, and he delivered exactly what we envisioned with top quality. Bonus points for how much he tidied up everything afterwards - not many workers leave with the place as clean as they arrived but Gerry did! Highly recommended!

Gerry built beutiful fitted wardrobes for my new bedroom and completed other building works, including insulating an external wall. Initially, I chose Gerry for his good communication skills and his competitive quote. On first impression, I thought he was someone I could trust and talk with. He gave me valualbe advice but also listened to my needs. Adjustments made along the way did not pose problems. The work was completed according to schedule. Gerry is clearly an experienced and skilled craftsman. Most importantly, he was a pleasure to have working in my home. I will be using his services again and I would heartily recommend him to others.

Gerry was recommended to me by a neighbour, I had been to her house and was very impressed by his carpentry work. I contacted him about doing my bathroom. He was very friendly, polite, approachable and professional. He was very realistic about his availability and what was involved in a new bathroom. I called him several times for advice and questions and he always took my calls, was very helpful and patient with me. Once the installation date was agreed, Gerry was very clear on what happened on each day and who was involved in the project. I was very impressed with his timekeeping, quality of his work and his work ethos. All the workers he brought in ie tiler, electrician, plasterer etc arrived on time and completed their jobs on time and to a high standard. I observed that Gerry had a very personable with all other traders that he brought in and they all really respected him. He was also very flexible when I brought in my own floor fitter. He flexed and adjusted the quote accordingly. When the job was completed, I was over the moon and very happy with my new bathroom. The job was finished on time. I was so happy with my new bathroom, that I got Gerry to do the bathroom in my mum's maisonette as he had a window in his busy calendar and I grabbed it. Thank you to Gerry for making my dream come true and making me a beautiful new bathroom, and a extra special thank you from my mum (fellow Scot) for her beautiful bathroom too! I have booked Gerry for my Kitchen project too :-)

Gerry recently did two jobs for us - built in desks for our office and a new utility room with floor to ceiling built in cupboards, toilet and sink. We would highly reccomend Gerry. His carpentry skills are fantastic and we are very happy with both completed jobs. He is trustworthy, a good timekeeper and always open to discussing the job at any point. We are still discovering issues with the fitting of our kitchen and utility, months after Heron Carpentry left. Poor cuts/drilling, alignment issues, corner posts incorrectly fitted with units overlapping, holes drilled in the wrong place on our new fridge door, doors put on the wrong way around, poorly fitted sinks with packers left on show, damaged units and panels. See photographs on Google reviews (under ‘Heroes Carpentry’). I have spent a considerable amount of time and money trying to correct some of the above. Many of these issues were discussed with Gerry at the time and he did cover the cost of replacing three doors that were put on the wrong way. We didn’t ask Heron Carpentry back to complete the remaining work quoted for. I don’t like posting negative reviews but we have been so disappointed with the quality of workmanship and relied on the 5 star reviews when choosing Heron Carpentry.

Heron Carpentry have just completed the installation of my new kitchen they have done a great job from start to finish. From the first meeting Heron Carpentry have been concise and clear on charges and what work needs to be done and when. They set expectations and delivered on their promises. The clear and concise initial pricing and then the transparency of extra work that was required was a breath of fresh air compared to other trades I had engaged. They managed the kitchen supplier and worked together with the worktop fitters to complete a stunning kitchen. I would recommend this company for fitting kitchens.

I am very satisfied with the service received from Heron Carpentry Limited from start to finish. The work commenced on the agreed date and stayed within the agreed budget. Communication throughout the service was excellent. My expectations of the service and quality of the workmanship was met completely. There arose an unexpected problem with the kitchen once the old cabinets were removed which had the potential to spoil the look of the kitchen on completion. However, Gerry resolved the problem, adding additional structures and thereby ensuring the kitchen was completed to my satisfaction. No cost was added for this additional work. I am confident aftercare will continue.

We used Gerry after he fitted an amazing kitchen and bathroom for our son. We needed a bespoke serving counter for our new coffee shop and Gerry did an amazing job for us, the quality of the work and materials used was first class. Would highly recommend him.

I’m delighted with the installation of my new bathroom recently completed by Gerry. This is the the third time I have used Gerry’s expert services, which previously included fitting a new kitchen. Though a skilled carpenter, Gerry can also easily deal with plumbing and electrical jobs while collaborating with other traders when needed. I’m impressed with Gerry’s ability to solve problems as well as his good communication skills and sense of humour. The work was finished to a high standard and according to schedule. Heron Carpentry stripped out our existing bathroom and refitted. The work was completed to schedule and any budget increases were discussed with us and agreed prior to action. Gerry from Heron Carpentry was very polite and personable and always answered calls and questions promptly regarding the job. He worked with us to ensure we were delighted with the outcome of the refitting. The bathroom although small was finished to a high standard of workmanship. He provided a few extras to complement the standard of finish for a stylish and modern bathroom. Heron Carpentry is highly recommended.
