Highlights

"If it’s perfection you want, then Jonny Lea is the tradesperson you need to employ. I’ve owned several properties all needing work, all utilising varying trades. Of all skilled people, Jonny Lea is meticulous, conscientious and diligent throughout the entire build. He always arrives on time and works with little breaks (often I tried to encourage him to stop and he still carried on working). His work is considerably skilled and puts other ‘so called’ professionals to shame. I’ve used Jonny for Kitchen, Bathroom, on-suite and major tiling work - all I’m overjoyed with the craftsmanship."

"Jonny fitted our kitchen this summer and delivered a fantastic fit. His attention to detail and final finish was amazing. Would highly recommend."

"Jonny proved to be a very reliable and capable kitchen fitter. Communication was very good and I was very impressed with his attention to detail. He came to quote for the installation after I had ordered the kitchen but was able to suggest improvements to the design that I hadn't thought of. I was very impressed by his work ethic and how quickly the project came together. I cannot recommend him highly enough and wouldn't hesitate to use him again."

"Architect" is a title protected by law - only people on the official Architects Register (held by ARB) may use it. Confirm they're on it before you commission a design.

Check the Architects Register
Smart checks

Before you hire an architect

Only someone on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register may legally call themselves an 'architect' in the UK — ask for their ARB number and check it free at arb.org.uk. An 'architectural designer' or 'technologist' is a different, unregistered role (often capable, but not the same protection).
Agree how they charge before any work starts — a percentage of the build cost, a fixed fee, or an hourly rate — and exactly which stages it covers (concept design, planning application, building-regulations drawings, work on site), so there are no surprises later.
Confirm what they will actually handle versus what is excluded — the planning application, the building-control drawings, and whether they will administer the builder's contract on site — and get it, and a portfolio of similar projects, in writing.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
