Plumbing job achieved but when the floor boards they removed were replaced some were not secured correctly and my partner fell through one of the boards right over the new part of plumbing. He was not happy at all about the lack of care. Also no cap was provided to prevent smells from the water waste pipe from the old sink.

Agreed for issue to be fixed with this company and that the total cost would be between £120–£180. Sadly when the 2 plumbers arrived and after not finding the issue within 20 minutes. I was told they’d need to rip possibly 2 ceiling out in order to locate the problem. They would be charging £90 per plumber per hour and the cost could run into the thousands. Obviously I declined as my husband can rip the ceiling out for free. However when the plumbers left after 20 minutes I was charged £100 which seems crazy baring in mind they didn’t actually do anything.

Smart checks

Before you hire a gas engineer

By law, anyone working on your gas appliances must be on the Gas Safe Register — ask to see their Gas Safe ID card and check the licence number at gassaferegister.co.uk before they start.
Never let an unregistered person touch your gas: unsafe gas work risks carbon monoxide poisoning, fire and explosion, and is a criminal offence.
For a boiler or appliance install, get the work and price in writing and keep the Gas Safe / Building Regulations certificate they are required to give you.
Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
Read recent reviews for reliability and turning up on time — not only the quality of the work.
