"The project is now complete. The expertise of Chris and his team has produced exactly the additional space that I had foreseen and wanted. I have no hesitation in recommending Rookwood Construction for any similar projects. Thank you Chris."

"We are about half way through the project to convert my loft into additional living space with bedroom and en- suite. Chris turned up on the date he said he would start the job and has not missed a day since. He and his team arrive promptly each day. His planning of the project has been exemplary, with materials and additional tradespersons arriving to schedule. Disruption has been kept to the minimum and clearing up is done at the end of each day. A further review will follow on the completion of the project."

Before you hire a builder

Never pay a large deposit up front — agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
Be wary of a cash-only price or pressure to start tomorrow — both are red flags for an unaccountable job.
Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
