We asked Martin to move some pipework so we could rejig our bathroom. He did the work and fixed some other things at the same time and fitted in with our timetable for tiling etc. He was good about dealing with a change in the requirement which meant coming back on another day to complete the job. He turned up when he said he would and was prompt and efficient. We are very happy with his work.

Martin carried out a boiler service for me, including providing a gas safety record. He also disconnected an old gas cooker for me. He's an honest and friendly chap. Price was reasonable and as expected. I was happy with all work carried out and would hire him again.

Martin was great. Responsive, very helpful and explained everything well as we tried to track down the source of a leak through our ceiling.

Called Martin to look at a an inside wall which has become damp. He looked through several solutions. After persevering he eventually found the cause which required a new outside pipe to be refixed. He had all the materials with him and was able to carry out the work in one visit. He is also very pleasant and very knowledgeable and we would certainly use him again.

Our boiler was losing pressure every few hours. Martin was incredibly friendly and quick to respond. He kept to the times he said he’d be able to visit and was very helpful and clear what the issue was. He returned after the parts arrived and came back to finish the job. I have used Martin Toogood's service twice. First to replace a faulty WC filling valve and more recently to install a new WC and washbasin in the cloakroom including removing the old fittings. The work was carried out very efficiently. We had to delay the installation of the new fittings because more tiling was required. Martin readily fitted in with our new schedule. He has always arrived on site when promised. I have no hesitation in recommending Toogood Plumbing.

Martin's helped us with several jobs modernising our terrace flat. From small tasks like replacing taps and a sink plug, to moving a radiator, plumbing our new kitchen and replacing a section of damaged exterior waste water pipe. Martin's knowledgeable, punctual and clearly explained the requirements for each job. He also works very hard. Highly recommended!

Martin repaired our leaking toilet. He identified the problem, purchased the parts required, and completed the job within two hours. He communicated well, arrived at the agreed time, was pleasant and polite and did a good job in a short time. The amount charged seemed reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone in the area.

I used Martin twice now. He is very friendly and always makes himself available when you need him. And he fixes things without overcharging.

Martin has serviced boilers, replaced water tanks. He solves problems [why was there no cold water coming to any of the top floor taps] He responds to calls promptly, came to help with a washing machine which, in fact, I should have sorted myself and did not want to charge. His charges are reasonable, work is clean, efficient, friendly.

Martin is a breath of fresh air , providing clear and sound explanation to the problem with a solution appropriate to it. All is now working as it should. Super nice man, considerate clean and speedy work, fairly priced. Highly recommended.

Made an appointment with above tradesman to come and fix toilet. Appointment was for a Tuesday afternoon. He did not turn up, no phone call, no text message, nothing. Not recommended.

Martin recently replaced the toilet in our bathroom. It wasn't a straightforward job as it involved dismantling the old cabinet concealing the cistern, fitting new pipework, and creating and painting a new backboard and piece of flooring to fill the gaps where the old cabinet had been, all in a very small space without much room to work. Martin took his time to think through and explain the possible solutions to me before we agreed on this work. He arrived right on time and did an excellent job, keeping me updated on progress throughout the day. He took away the old toilet, cistern etc and left the bathroom and our shared hallway very tidy - better than any other contractor we've ever used. The price was exactly as per the quote given, with one addition which we agreed on the day so it was not a surprise. Would definitely recommend Martin and use his services again.

Martin came round at the time he said he would in order to assess the work and then a week later undertake it. The main work was installing a water pump for a shower, but there was also a need to service the boiler and repair deal with some other plumbing issues. I had used Martin before to deal with a leaking macerator, which he did quickly and competently, so I was confident about using him again, and I am glad I did. The work was well done, to a high standard, and he left the place tidy, as well. I would unhesitatingly recommend him.

Martin recently helped us with two plumbing issues—a leaking tap and a central heating problem. He arrived with everything needed to complete the job, including a new tap, and installed it quickly. He also identified and resolved the heating issue on the spot, saving us from unnecessary and costly repairs. In person, Martin is a clear and friendly communicator, happy to explain what he’s doing and answer any questions. His work was efficient and to a high standard. I would definitely recommend him and will be calling him again for any future plumbing or heating needs.

My central heating stopped working totally. Contacted Martin due to reviews on this site. He came back fast to say that he could make a visit the next day. He confirmed and then arrived on time. Carried out a repair including having to go to buy a part. All working perfectly and at a very fair price. He has restored my faith in great service in Central London. Hassle-free, a very fair price and a really good guy too. Would totally recommend and have saved his details in case I have any plumbing or central heating needs in the future.
