"Very happy with my new front door . The man who fitted it was professional and did a brilliant job . The door was very reasonably priced compared to other companies"

"I contacted them to replace a back door at a rental property in Liverpool. They were responsive initially and came out to measure, but the door that arrived was the wrong size. Although I clearly specified delivery times and afternoon fitting due to the tenant working nights, this wasn’t adhered to. Communication deteriorated after the initial contact, and the tenant was unhappy with their attitude while on site. The door itself is fine and reasonably priced, but the making good is sub-standard (see photos). I also had to repeatedly chase for an invoice for my accounts."

Smart checks

Before you hire a carpenter / joiner

Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work — and that they are current.
Get a written, itemised quote with scope, assumptions and a staged payment schedule.
Compare at least three carpenters / joiners on the depth of their evidence, not just price.
