Recently needed attention to my downstairs toilet. I had tried another plumber but he didn't bother to phone me back despite promises. Requested help and very pleasant plumber came same day. Resolved problem within the hour. Made no attempt to drag out time, which is known. Would recommend.

BakerSmith was not my first choice simply because I went with a Which? Trusted Trader nearer to my home, but this company badly let me down as they regarded me asking questions as a sign that I did not trust them. When they pulled out a whole list of jobs I had planned was in danger of falling apart. I phoned BakerSmith in floods of tears and John Baker was wonderful (making me laugh and telling me that he didn't think I was being unreasonable), saying that he would send Mark (Smith) to look at the work and come up with an estimate. Mark came round within days and said the company would be able to carry out the work on the days that I had planned. What was even better was his estimate was lower than the original company. He explained everything brilliantly and was able to suggest that pipework could go under the floor boards when the other company said that pipe work would need to go on the outside of the house. I bombarded him with loads of questions and he answered every one. He never made me feel like a pest. Liam did the work and his work ethic was amazing. He was even able to give us hot water when the boiler was being changed over. When he put our new shower in I wanted something changed so he came early the next working day and fixed it. I will never trust another company with our heating and plumbing ever again.

Baker Smith were called out on my behalf following a burst at my house. All I can say is that they were fantastic not only did they repair the leak, but Mark, a director took complete control of the situation arranged for all work, replacement floors, decorating etc. to be done. He kept in constant touch updating me with how things were going. They were expedient, extremely clean and careful workmen. I cannot fault them in any way and would recommend them to anyone without a second thought.

I first discovered a leak at 7am one morning so rang a number of supposedly 24/7 plumbers but had to leave messages - all of whom have still to contact me. I then unearthed an invoice from a previous job that Baker Smith had done for us and rang their number - despite it being early the phone was answered right away and things then progressed very smoothly to the completion of the job. On a separate occasion we had need to deal with a damaged toilet at our local scout hut. Baker Smith were on site at 0830am at very short notice, thus enabling the playgroup that uses the scout hut every morning to run as normal, saving the day for many parents and toddlers with minutes to spare! Also, in order to carry out this work for us they had had to re-organise their running order for the day. Whenever I next have need for a plumber Baker Smith will certainly be my first port of call.

Polite, efficient plumbers who arrived on time, fixed the problems, and offer very good rates. Would highly recommend.

Arrived at time agreed. Diagnosed and replaced motorised-head on 3-way diverter valve very efficiently, taking just over the hour, including collection from supplier. Tidied up well, very professional. Quoted charges beforehand - call out £70+ and £30 per half-hour thereafter.

We recently had our bathroom completely refurbished which included a disability bath and we are absolutely delighted with it. Every member of the team were very friendly and helpful and always returned messages left. Their Customer Service is outstanding. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Baker Smith to anyone and will definitely go back to them when we next need their services.

We employed Baker Smith to replace an existing shower and a separate bath/shower mixer tap. As soon as the plumber left we noticed a drip coming from the hot mixer tap and called the office who arranged for him to come straight back. He identified a leaking washer in the hot feed and replaced - we asked him to check the cold feed and he assured us he was happy with that. The following morning we used the mixer shower only to find a further leak that was now coming through our downstairs cloakroom! We immediately turned off the supply and the company sent another plumber a few hours later who managed to replace the joints with flexi-cons and resolve the leak. After discussions with the office we were offered a morning or afternoon appointment for the company decorator to visit and make good the damage. We explained that although it was only a small area to paint it would need sealing first and two subsequent coats and that that wasn't feasible in a 3 hour slot when each coat stated on tin that it needed 2-4 hours between coats. We were surprised and disappointed to find it was the plumber himself who came to paint and not a decorator and he proceeded to paint all three coats in under two hours. I have little doubt that this will need correcting at our expense in the future and let the office know of our concerns. The final point is that the labour charge seems very high at £329 for less than 3 hours work. I would add that everyone was very pleasant and understanding.

We have used Baker Smith on numerous occassions, most recely on 31 October for our boiler service. It is an ageing combi-boiler that we are keen to squeeze a few more years out of, so when we got an email reminding us it had been a year since we last had it serviced, we asked Baker Smith to come and service it again. They called to book in a time that was convenient to me. Their engineer arrived promptly at the arranged time, was very professional, tidy and helpful with one or two other olumbing related questions I had. We have also used Baker Smith to move radiator pipes and instal a new cast iron radiator in the past, and have found all of their engineers to be just as professional and helpful. They have also helped with advice over the phone in a bit of an emergency at my Nan's home relatng to a kitchen tap which had worked its way loose and wouldn't turn off. We have never been disappointed with thier service.

Work carried out promptly and for cost quoted — £200. Great communicators both in the office and also the plumber doing the work. Phones calls returned promptly as were replies to emails. Would I use again? You betcha!

I have been using this company for 20 years. Generally reliable. I contacted them about low hot water pressure they know my system and told me it was a valve issue, they said they would come out and have a look. They were in the house 3 minutes took a picture of the valve to order one. I was then sent an invoice for £150 for a call out charge. I have never paid a call out charge before and was not told there was one. The quote was then for £549 plus vat for the new valve. 3 other local plumbers all quoted less than £300 for the job before I told them this company had quoted £549…. BUYER BEWARE. I will never use this company again and definitely would not recommend them. I would actually give no stars but unfortunately I have to give 1
