I had the front of my Victorian house painted and some repairs and paving done. I had to wait a while for the work to start, but once begun, they were diligent and took care to prepare surfaces thoroughly. They consulted on getting details right and advised me on options. The team worked hard to complete everything as soon as possible, and the finished result looks good. I would use them again without hesitation.

We had a recommendation from neighbours on our street to get in touch with Keith/Ben as we wanted our masonry surrounds in our Victorian property for our 9 windows to be rebuilt. Our Victorian window sills and all detailing/paintwork had been in really poor condition. We were also concerned that we may get water leaks at some point so wanted some repointing carried out to our brickwork - and for a large section of brickwork to be colour matched as it was not in keeping with the rest of the brickwork in our Victorian property. Ben and Keith came over to give us a very reasonable quote. The work they carried out was top quality and we are absolutely delighted with the results - both from an aesthetic perspective (our property now looks amazing) but also they have done a really thorough job. They also helped to repair our outside wall and did a lot of painting including both to our outside wall and our windows - again, this was all done extremely methodically and it all looks brilliant. To top it all off, they are a really friendly team and we had no hesitation with leaving them in our house and really enjoyed chatting with them. Above all, we trusted them 100% with their decisions and that they were doing what was the right thing for both us and our property. We will be recommending them to anyone and everyone!

We needed extensive repairs undertaken to the brickwork and masonary on the front door porch of our victorian house. K Barnard was prompt in carrying out an inspection and submitting an estimate. They explained clearly what needed to be done and carried out the work expeditiously and tidely including painting the masonary. Top marks for punctuality, value, skill and thoroughness. They carried out the work in good spirit and were careful to clean up afterwards.

It was a pleasure to work with Ben, Keith and the whole team. A lot of work was needed in addition to the brickwork: sills and some of the woodwork needed repair and the trim to the front and side of the house needed painting. The job lasted a few months and there were many things to decide. We really appreciated the thoughtful recommendations and the really professional attitude. We had to be away in the middle of the job and were able to hand over our house keys without any worry. Everything got finished to a very high standard. Communication was excellent throughout. Ben, Keith and colleagues did some pointing, rebuilding of a wall and some decorative exterior tile work on our Victorian house. Despite the rotten weather in October and early November '23 (a LOT of rain) creating some delays they got it all done as quickly and professionally as possible. The pointing seems to have done the trick with the back walls now being watertight, the new front wall looks great and best of all the chequerboard tiling at the front door looks amazing - a tricky job executed meticulously by Ben. The work went a little bit over the quote but not without good reason and a conversation and explanation about why and how. We waited a little bit longer than we'd hoped to get started but that was because they were busy over the Summer and seemed like a positive sign. We're really pleased with the work and I'd recommend K.Barnard Brickwork to anyone, they take real pride in what they do!

A bit like the famous ad for Heinz ketchup in the 1980s, Ben and Keith were a long time coming but boy o boy did they deliver when they finally found time to squeeze us into their busy schedule. We had 2 smallish non time critical jobs, rebuilding a low wall for a large raised D bed in the front garden and blocking up a side window in the kitchen which was no longer needed having been plaster boarded over internally. The D bed was originally one brick thick and falling apart - they replaced it with a double brick wall and topped with bricks laid crossways, which is much more substantial, blends in with the existing garden walls and looks really professional. They also repaired a couple of the steps which were subsiding, saving the original surface bricks to match with those on the existing good steps. The window was taken out, kingspan insulated then bricked up with a block wall and finished with pebbledash to match the rest of the sidewall, just needs painting and you would never know there was a window there originally! They were very good in tidying up, taking debris away and washing down at the end of the job, and came in on budget. I would thoroughly recommend them provided you're not in a hurry

I first met Keith and Ben when they came to look at a nasty/dangerous situation concerning crumbling masonry from a third floor window surround. They sized up the work needed and provided a somewhat vague quote ( by necessity as it was impossible to verify extent of works required) . I was impressed with Ben's professionalism and explanation of what might be required. The quote arrived and Ben was able to fit us in with a minimum of fuss, the only drawback being that they were so busy , they needed a couple of months to finish other work. Once the works commenced it was a palpable relief to be able to talk to both Ben and Keith directly concerning snagging's. It is a pleasure to deal with a real family firm without having to deal with 'an office' To summarise - I would suggest they did at least TWICE the amount of work I had envisaged. The scope of the work meant some additional costs were incurred, but options were always made clear and ultimately were negligible considering the value for money we received. I would recommend Keith and Ben without reservation.

We were really pleased with the work that Keith, Ben and their team did on our house. We needed some cracks in the brickwork and concrete window sills repaired and they visited and quoted quickly, suggesting a method that would prevent the cracks reopening rather than just fill them. They were honest about what work that would help and what wouldn't, so they didn't quote for anything unnecessary. It took a while to get a date booked in because they were so busy (which I took as a good sign!) but we're glad we waited for them. They weren't able to paint the repaired windowsills as they were focusing on structural repairs, but they recommended a breathable paint to use once we found a painter. The price charged was as quoted and was reasonable for the work involved. Overall the whole team were friendly and professional from start to finish and I would definitely recommend them.

Keth, Ben and the team have repointed and cleaned all the brickwork on our Edwardian house frontage from the chimneys down, replacing the failing and inappropriate mortar with lime mortar suited to the building's age and style. They have replaced or repaired all the damaged bricks, repaired the masonry and brickwork cracks, replaced the damaged plinth and retiled the dilapidated porch floor. All expertly and carefully done, despite some very inclement weather. And as a bonus, they repaired the lead roof of the oriel window. We are delighted with the results!

Barnard Brickwork came to detect the reason for a leak into a first floor bedroom and repair every possible source. This involved repointing 3 chimneys, putting up new cowling pots and replacing gutters and flashing. Keith, Ben and Sean worked hard, sometimes in very cold temperatures, and left everything shipshape at the end of each day. We were particularly impressed that they left the scaffolding up for a few weeks so we could check when it rained whether the job had been successful before the scaffolding was taken down. We would certainly use Barnard Brickwork again.

Excellent communication, helpfulness and we would use this firm again because their work is of a high standard. We have used them several times before. The job was relatively minor - removing a very old washing line post and cementing in a new one - but for all the residents living here it makes a big difference to have a new washing line again. Everyone thought that the estimate was reasonable so thanks to Keith and Ben for a job well done.
