He'd kept me informed of when he'd be arriving and what he'd be doing. a small job turned into a bigger one and Joao worked late into the evening to make sure i wasn't left in a difficult spot. Prices were extremly reasonable. Joao ensured he cleared/cleaned up everything after he had finished and was happy to follow up to ensure everything was good. it's refreshing to have had someone do honest work at fair prices and be very dependable. Joao will now be my number 1 contact for future projects that are relevant."

Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top — in writing — before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced — get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
